Sheet metal wizardry: From coil stock to casing in under a minute

Rich Wagner, of Tapco tools,  demonstrates how to bend a window casing for vinyl siding from standard aluminum coil stock.

How to do it:

  1. Begin with the finished side up, bend 90 degrees at about 2 inches from the edge.
  2. Flip metal over, so that the finished side is down, bend 90 degrees.
  3. Hem the seam.
  4. Flip the metal finished side up, slide the short leg into the brake, and bend another 90. This returns the J-channel.
  5. Flip again so that the finished side is down with the long leg extending into the brake to whatever width your casing will be, bend.
  6. Seam the outer edge

Rich bent this window casing in 57 seconds, can you beat him?
