Sealing Corners With Zip System Tape

SPONSOR CONTENT

Seal the structural sheathing against air and water leaks

Step by step:

  • To install the ZIP System tape to the outside corner, secure the tape evenly to one side of the corner.
  • Roll out the tape until it overlaps the previously installed piece of tape, then cut the piece of tape.
  • Next, fold the tape over the corner, pulling it tightly across the corner. Make sure the tape is overlapped at least two inches.
  • Use the roller to make sure the tape has good adhesion to the corner and the ZIP System surface.

A next-generation exterior roof and wall solution, ZIP System streamlines the weatherization process with an integrated water-resistive barrier and taped seams replacing the need for house wrap or felt, while eliminating the risk of trapped water between sheathing and barrier and protecting against air leakage. View all Zip System's content
