In season three of Building Resilience, we are mostly looking at two projects: a residing and window replacement job and a stylish backyard shed.
Building resilience into the enclosure
- Zero global warming potential (GWP) Styrofoam expanded polystyrene (XPS) insulates a hydronically heated slab in a basement living space retrofit.
- A self-adhered WRB from Benjamin Obdyke called Hydrogap SA on a siding replacement job.
- Structural sheathing with built-in WRB from Georgia Pacific called Forcefield.
- New windows and stacking slider doors from Ply Gem were installed in the stylish shed.
- A new peel-and-stick roofing underlayment from Benjamin Obdyke called VaporDry is peeled and stuck to the shed's three roofs.
- Standing seam metal roofing from ABC caps that shed, but not before...
- Four types of cladding cover the walls: Variform's vinyl lap siding, a panel and channel system, open cladding with deck boards, and manufactured stone from StoneWorks.
- Finally, we will install a sleek new ceiling cassette from Mitsubishi to condition the stylish shed
And that about wraps up the season three outlook for Building Resilience, THE ONLY show about extreme climate construction.
